“Cool” shoot against a picturesque setting
When photographer Patrick trudges through crisp snow at four in the morning, he's probably on a mission for DOTZ. Once a year, the big winter shoot is on the agenda, where our cool pictures come to life. If you want to take a look behind the scenes, the video shows the making-of against a frosty backdrop. The pictures are now in the can, featuring our current stars in a dreamy winter wonderland in the Berchtesgaden Alps: the Fuji family in grey, dark, and gold, and the LongBeach duo in dark and black.

Five harmonious design variants
Equally radiant is the array of attractive cars that truly showcase the finesse of Fuji and LongBeach: The Fuji grey (front: 8x20, rear: 9x20) is a perfect fit for the sporty BMW 420i in M-package, while the Skoda Octavia RS in Fuji dark (8x20) looks fantastic. The most eye-catching member of the Fuji family is undoubtedly the Fuji gold (9x19), giving the driving fun powerhouse Toyota Yaris GR the final sporty touch. The LongBeach was specially designed for the biggies, adorning two typical representatives: the all-purpose BMW X4 SUV in the robust M440i version pairs excellently with LongBeach dark (front: 9.5x21, rear: 10.5x21), while the fast and elegant Porsche Macan and the LongBeach black (front: 10x21, rear: 10.5x21) make for an exceptionally attractive power couple.

Weather cooperation
But before the beautifully captured winter wheels could reveal all their facets against the picturesque Alpine backdrop, there was a lot of work for our and his team. Perfect pictures require everything to fall into place. That's why, it was an early morning for everyone because before any picture is taken, various locations need to be scouted for different shoots. Lighting conditions at different times of the day must be considered, as well as traffic, and the current weather, which always plays a significant role in the mountains given that snowstorms are always a possibility. However, when the weather cooperates as wonderfully as it did during this production, things usually go smoothly, resulting in excellent pictures in the end.

Cleaning at 2000 metres
Assuming the protagonists, the cars, and wheels, are in a photogenic state, which, in icy temperatures at around 2000 metres above sea level, largely means cleaning, cleaning, cleaning – by hand, as you can see in our video. But the effort paid off exceptionally well this time: the pictures turned out to be truly exceptional. The well-deserved dumplings at the ski hut tasted fantastic to the whole team. And, of course, there was plenty of room for fun at this production because when you're at a DOTZ shoot in the middle of the snow, a few drifts are a must.
